Reporting to the Head of Aquatics, the Relief Swim Coach at UWCSEA Dragons Swim Team will be responsible for coaching the Junior Squad and Age Group programs, demonstrating initiative and confidence. This role also involves providing support at the Senior Squad level. The coach must be dynamic and adaptable, effectively managing the evolving swim program within the international school environment.
Lead and support development squads, prepare and deliver session plans, monitor student progress, and assist PE teachers during swim units, viewing setbacks as learning opportunities.- Ensure the pool area is safe and presentable, manage administrative logs, set up and clear equipment, maintain equipment checklists and escalate any concerns to the Head of Aquatics.
Coordinate pre-season assessments, registrations, trials and class allocations, assist with the sign-up process, and handle parent inquiries via email and phone.
- Manage swim meet entries, attend and coach at meets, plan sessions, track athlete performance, and ensure smooth running of meets.
Liaise with parents and high school volunteers, providing direction and support to ensure effective involvement.- Perform any other duties assigned.
Degree in related field- Level 2 Coach or UKCC Level 2 certified or International equivalent
Certified First Aider
- Qualified swim coach with a minimum 3 years of experience coaching
Computer literate and familiar with Gmail and Google platforms (Familiar with Full Solution ACTIVE Hy-Tek Swim Software: Team Manager & Meet Manager)- Confident in using social media, responsibly, as a tool to promote learning
Able to work with children of different age groups
- A team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask and work independently
Confidently communicate with International School parents and staff. This will include regular public speaking, daily e-mail communication and an understanding of the International School environment.
