Applications are invited for the following full-time position in the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health:
Research Assistant (1 year, Diabetes and chronic disease projects)
We are looking for a full-time research assistant to support ongoing research projects in the areas of diabetes and related chronic diseases. The successful candidate will be expected to support in the recruitment of research participants, conduct of study procedures, data management, and coordination with multiple stakeholders. The candidate will be working under the Principal Investigator, Associate Professor Kavita Venkataraman, and will have the opportunity to acquire skills in chronic disease research.
Responsibilities:
. Coordination of study activities
. Participant recruitment and outreach
. Conduct of study visits and participant follow up, including informed consent, questionnaires, assessments and phlebotomy
. Management of study data, and study files
. Management of supply inventory and budget monitoring
. Liaison with participants as well as internal and external teams partnering the studies
. Support for ethics and other administrative approvals, and reporting for the same
Requirements:
. Bachelor's degree/ diploma in life sciences, allied health, health communications, or related disciplines
. Proficiency in Chinese will be an advantage as the position will work with older adults who are likely to be Chinese speaking participants.
. Excellent written and oral communication skills
. Strong organizational and time-management abilities, as well as administrative skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
. Prior experience with clinical/ public health research will be an advantage
. Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality
. Ability to communicate effectively
