Asst Prof Liang Kun at the Skin program in LKC school of medicine is looking for interested candidates to join the Lab of Skin Bioengineering and Devices.
We are seeking a motivated research assistant to work on the development of functional biomaterials and skin-interfacing devices with translational potential, leveraging on advanced technologies such as 3D printing and bioprinting capabilities. In addition to conducting experiments, he/she will also managing laboratory administrative tasks such as procurement, safety compliance and inventory management to facilitate smooth laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for assays/experiments, including material characterizations, histology, confocal microscopy, etc.
- Provide support in data analysis
- Participate in laboratory management and organization including inventory, housekeeping, maintenance, and risk assessments etc.
- Assist with procurement and safety-related duties
- Collaborate actively with other research collaborators
Key Competencies And Education Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Material Science, Bioengineering, Biomedical Sciences or related fields.
- At least 1 year experience with biomaterial design, polymer functionalization, and characterizations
- At least 1 year experience with CAD design and 3D printing of prototypes and assessments
- Experience in biochemical, physiological and molecular assays preferred
- Able to plan and execute experiments with minimal supervision
- Knowledge in skin biology and physiology will be advantageous
