We are looking for a Research Associate to enhance the blast resistance of precast structures and analyze progressive collapse in flat slab systems. The role will focus on creating safer and resilient environments, addressing critical challenges, such as structural safety and resilience, and contributing meaningfully to our overarching commitment to protect communities and foster innovation in construction safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and perform in-depth analyses to improve blast resistance in precast structures and assess the risk of progressive collapse in flat slab systems.
- Develop and implement innovative methods and solutions to enhance building safety and structural resilience.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design, test, and optimize new materials and construction techniques.
- Provide expert guidance on blast mitigation strategies and progressive collapse prevention in project planning.
- Ensure project compliance with safety standards while contributing to the university's mission of fostering innovation and protecting community welfare.
Job Requirements
- Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field
- Knowledge of blast effects on structures and progressive collapse analysis
- Familiarity with blast resistance safety standards
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Experience with precast concrete structure design and analysis
- Proficiency in structural analysis software and CAD.
- Competent in analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
