Key Job Purpose:
Investigate how brain immune cells differentiate and functionally specialize using omics and bioinformatic approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop and execute experiments and analysis pipelines in line with project requirements.
- Accurately document research procedures.
- Work with and guide students (undergraduate & graduate level).
- Contribute to writing papers, grant proposals and reports.
- Report research at national and international meetings.
Key Decisions:
- Analysis and presentation of publication-quality figures and research data.
- Preparation of figures for publication
- Presentation of research data on a weekly basis to PI and labgroup
- Presentation of findings at conferences (once per year)
- Publish research data in international peer reviewed journals
Key Requirements:
Qualifications:
- BSc and training in neuroscience and computational biology.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Experience with computational and bioinformatics approaches for investigating epigenetic and gene regulation in brain health and disease.
- Skilled in bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing, including differential gene expression, weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA), and in silico gene perturbation.
- Experienced in single-cell ATAC-seq and ChIP-seq analysis for examining gene regulatory mechanisms.
- Experience with ChIP-qPCR, bisulfite sequencing, and quantitative PCR to assess protein-DNA interactions and methylation.
