Research Technologist (F&B), Singapore
As a Research Technologist, you will be responsible to work closely with cross functional teams such as Application and Creation team on various cross categories projects to analyze food / flavor samples using analytical instruments. From the analytical data and interpretation, you will be required to make a suggestion and support basic formulation according to the needs and requirements of our internal / external stakeholders. Furthermore, you will be involved in sensory evaluation with cross functional teams to provide valuable analysis to enhance the prototype. This role will report directly to Senior Research Technologist.
The Position:
Analyze volatiles and non-volatiles composition of food and flavor samples and translate into formulation to the developers
Manage selection of sample preparation methods
Perform laboratory maintenance and inventory management
Perform calibration of instruments for operation and ensure instruments are well-maintained.
Manage troubleshoot independently if there is any technical / instrument challenges
Handle reactive and research analysis project to provide good data for joint discussion
Liaise with cross functional stakeholders to share and explain the analytical information
Support upgradation of chromatography instrumentation and technology in sample preparation
Support developers and supply chain in quality resolution
Be responsible for health, safety, hygiene, ethical and financial integrity of all projects involved
Recognize the needs and desire to undertake personal development as the role develops
The Ideal Candidate:
Bachelors Degree Food Science & Technology, Chemistry and / or Biological Sciences or equivalent field
Minimum 1-2 years of research and / or relevant industry experiences with broad food / flavor science knowledge and understanding
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Possess advance chromatography instrumentation, instrument software and data processing skills will be an added advantage
Strong team player, independent, patient, creative and enjoys routine research
Strong analytical skills and proactiveness to take initiatives to support the team
