Resident Engineer C&S (Ferry Terminal)

Job Description & Requirements

. To ensure that the Contractor co-ordinates the work of various contractors.

. To agree to detailed programmes of work-time chart and representation on site plans

. To check that all necessary drawings and instruction have been given to contractors and authorization obtained in accordance with the agreed programme.

. To check that materials are ordered in good time and permits obtained.

. Check that all constructions work are carried out in safe manner and that the site is kept secure.

. To watch for faulty workmanship and materials incorporated in the works and to issue instructions for rectification.

. To check line and level and layout of structure during erection and that intentions of contract drawings are adhered to.

. To check structural slab, beam an column sizes and reinforcements placed and that intent of design details are followed.

Requirements

. Recognized Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with valid RE Accreditation Certificate from IES.

. Must have at least 8 years post-graduate experience respectively in supervising building projects. Applicants with both design and supervision experience as Resident Engineer will be favourably considered.

. Fully conversant with Building Contract Act and Regulations. Able to administer contractrs professionally, maintain site records and contract documents systematically, so as to meet reporting requirements under Building Control Act.

. Experience in the supervision of piling, spun pile systems, precast concrete and structural steel construction.

. Experience with projects located adjacent to sea would be advantageous.

. Able to start work by: tentative mid Aug 2024

. Contract duration: 16.5 months

. Project type: Interim Ferry Terminal

. Salary range: $6,000 to $7,000
