The role involves overseeing architectural aspects of construction projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, building codes, and quality standards. The Resident Technical Officer (Architect) will collaborate closely with project teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure successful project delivery.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise and inspect architectural works on construction sites to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and regulations.
- Monitor construction progress, quality of workmanship, and adherence to project timelines.
- Conduct regular site inspections and prepare inspection reports detailing findings and recommendations.
- Review and approve architectural shop drawings, material submissions, and method statements.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project execution.
- Liaise with the design team to clarify design intent and resolve design-related issues during construction.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to project teams on architectural matters.
- Ensure that all architectural works meet safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Assist in the preparation of project progress reports and attend project meetings as required.
- Participate in the testing, commissioning, and handover of architectural components upon completion of construction.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent.
- Registered Architect with relevant professional body (if applicable).
- Proven experience as a Resident Technical Officer (Architect) or similar role in construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, building codes, and construction practices.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other architectural design software.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
