Job Description

Contract Duration: 16-20 months
Commencement: End of October / November

As a key member of our Site Team, you will play an integral role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects, utilizing your specialized knowledge in marine construction and your commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review all drawings from the Authority and Contractors, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Provide necessary endorsements required by relevant authorities.
  • Supervise all aspects of construction work, including civil and architectural works, plumbing, sanitary systems, drainage, sewer systems, and marine-related structures.
  • Provide full-time supervision for new building erections, as well as extensive addition & alteration (A/A) works on existing structures.
  • Coordinate between contractors, Qualified Persons [QP(S) and QP(D)], relevant agencies, interfacing contractors, and consultants to ensure smooth project execution, particularly in marine environments.
  • Maintain proper and updated records of all works, including variations, tests, inspections, work progress, materials, equipment on site, safety, provisional quantities, and dayworks.
  • Write daily reports on the contractor's work progress and the current site staffing status.
  • Review, evaluate, and assess formwork structures and support systems, submitting evaluation reports endorsed by a Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Oversee and supervise safety, environmental, and health matters on the site, with a focus on marine safety regulations.
  • Supervise the installation of instrumentation, especially in marine settings.
  • Adhere to the shift duty roster assigned by the Resident Engineer (RE), and undertake any additional duties, including administrative tasks, as instructed by the RE, Officer-In-Charge (OIC), or Consultant.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience working as a Resident Technical Officer, with significant experience in marine construction projects.
  • Familiarity with extensive addition and alteration (A/A) works on existing operational buildings.
  • Fully conversant with the Building Control Act and Regulations, with the ability to systematically maintain site records, contract documents, and meet reporting requirements.
  • Experience in civil works, including plumbing, sanitary, drainage, and sewer systems, is advantageous.
  • Experience in Earth Retaining or Stabilizing Structures (ERSS) and deep excavation work is an advantage.
  • Experience in demolition work is an advantage.
  • Required experience in reinforced concrete piling work, including industrial building works.
  • Supervisory experience in architectural works is required.
  • Registered with IES/BCA as a Resident Technical Officer.
