Robot Software Engineer

NOTE: We are looking specifically for candidates who can write code in C/C++ or Python and have prior experience with robots. There is no strict minimum qualification, but you must have experience in writing code and can read algorithms. If you have a background in R&D, robotics or algorithm design, this role will likely be a good fit for you. If your skillset is limited to the mechanical design of robots, this role is wrong for you. Your familiarity with ROS and ability to write good code WILL BE exhaustively assessed during the interview rounds.

Job Brief

We are increasing our team size of Robot Software Engineers. This is a position for a research-focused role towards autonomous service robots for indoor and outdoor environments, specifically in the areas of mapping, multi robot orchestration, and control. You would work alongside other researchers to testbed and evaluate new hardware devices and algorithmic capabilities. The work that you do will contribute to new approaches for robot navigation, perception, and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

1. Work with the research team to develop, evaluate, and testbed new robot capabilities
2. Work with other robot engineers to develop, collect data, debug and trial robots in various use cases and environments
3. Participate in the continued development across our product lines

Critical Skills

• Demonstratable expertise with C/C++ and/or Python
• Demonstratable experience with ROS
• Demonstratable experience in robot navigation, perception, or instrumentation

Nice to Haves

• Demonstratable experience working with researchers, participation in research efforts, OR relevant publication in robotics
• Familiarity with combinatorics or metaheuristics algorithms
• Familiarity with parallel, concurrent, or distributed computing
