About The Role
As a Robotics & Automation Intern, you will explore and develop new logistics technology through Robotics and Automation. You will actively seek for cutting-edge automation solutions in the market, conduct preliminary feasibility studies and develop rapid prototypes to bring robotics automation concepts to fruition effectively.
You will also gain practical experience in every stage of the robotics automation process, from ideation to implementation, resulting in tangible advancements in supply chain optimisation through automation technology. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and develop new technology that can improve the logistics supply chain and operational excellence.
We are looking for interns who can join us for 6 months to 1 year, on a full-time basis from January 2025 onwards.
What you will be doing:
- Requirements Gathering: Work closely with stakeholders on the business needs, operational requirements, and define standard technical specification for automation solutions for logistics processes, including Warehousing and Value-Added Services (VAS) processes.
- Technology Research: Work closely with the automation team to scout and explore technology trends in robotics and automation.
- Feasibility Studies: Conduct preliminary feasibility studies on identified technologies based on the return on investment (ROI) model
- Technological Solutioning: Collaborate with operations teams and logistics analysts to develop conceptual and detailed designs for automation systems, including hardware, software and control strategies
- Prototyping: Creating rapid prototypes to validate and actualise automation efforts through practical construction, integrating software development, microcontroller programming and 3D printing techniques
- Testing and Deployment: Lead and assist in technical aspects of automation implementation, testing, commissioning and deployment to ensure successful delivery
- Maintenance Support: Provide troubleshooting, investigation, and implementation of improvement solutions for existing robotic automation equipment and systems related to quality and safety issues
- Additional Support: Assist the Automation team with any additional ad-hoc task assignments, including, but not limited to, data collection and analysis
