Safety Compliance:
. Ensure the construction site complies with all relevant Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations, guidelines, and codes of practice.
. Regularly update site safety protocols to reflect changes in local regulations or company policies.
Liaise with regulatory bodies such as the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and other authorities to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Risk Management:
. Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards on site.
. Develop and implement control measures to mitigate identified risks.
. Monitor and review risk assessments regularly, updating them as necessary.
Safety Inspections and Audits:
. Perform daily site inspections
. Conduct periodic safety audits, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
. Ensure that all equipment and machinery are in safe working condition and that safety devices are properly installed and functional.
Training and Education:
. Organize and conduct safety training sessions for all site personnel, including toolbox talks, safety inductions, and emergency response drills.
. Educate workers on the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety measures.
. Maintain records of all safety training sessions and ensure that all employees are aware of site safety protocols.
Incident Management:
. Investigate any accidents, incidents, or near-misses to determine their cause and recommend preventive measures.
. Prepare and submit detailed incident reports to management and relevant authorities as required.
. Ensure that all incidents are documented and that lessons learned are communicated to the site team to prevent recurrence.
Safety Documentation and Reporting:
. Maintain all safety records, including inspection logs, safety training records, incident reports, and risk assessments.
. Prepare monthly safety performance reports for submission to the Site Manager and Project Manager.
. Monitor and report on key safety metrics, such as accident frequency rates and safety compliance levels.
Skills:
. A diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field
. Possess relevant Certificates (e.g. Advanced Certificate in WSH Safety Coordinators Training Course / BCSS)
. Certification in Lifting Supervisors Safety Course
. Certification in Supervision of Metal Scaffold Erection Course
. Certification in WAH Supervisor course
. Occupational First Aid Course (OFA)
. Additional certificates related to safety is an added advantage
. Proficient in report writing.
. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and at heights, as required
. May need to work extended hours, including weekends, to meet project deadlines.
