Job Summary: A Hair Salon Consultant is a customer-focused professional who assists clients in making informed decisions about their hair care and beauty needs. This role involves providing expert advice, recommending appropriate services and products, and ensuring that clients have a positive salon experience.

Responsibilities:

• Client Consultation:

Welcome clients warmly and conduct in-depth consultations to understand their hair goals, concerns, and preferences.

• Analyse clients hair type, texture, and condition to offer tailored recommendations.

Service Recommendations:

• Provide expert guidance on suitable haircuts, hairstyles, hair colour, and treatments based on clients individual needs and preferences.

Explain the benefits of various salon services and treatments, ensuring clients are well-informed.

• Product Knowledge and Sales:

Stay updated on the latest hair care and beauty products available in the salon.

• Educate clients about product benefits, ingredients, and usage.

Assist clients in selecting and purchasing the right products for their hair care routine.

• Hair and Scalp Health:

Assess hair and scalp conditions, offering advice and recommendations for maintaining healthy hair.

• Suggest specialized treatments, such as deep conditioning or scalp massages, as needed.

Appointment Scheduling:

• Assist clients in booking appointments, ensuring availability and efficient scheduling.

Manage appointment calendars and coordinate with salon staff to accommodate client requests.

• Client Relations:

Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, fostering trust and loyalty.

• Address client inquiries, concerns, or special requests promptly and professionally.

Ensure clients feel comfortable and valued throughout their salon visit.

• Upselling and Cross-Selling:

Identify opportunities for upselling additional salon services or treatments.

• Cross-sell complementary services or products to enhance the client's experience.

Salon Presentation:

• Ensure the salon environment is clean, organized, and welcoming.

Arrange and maintain product displays and promotional materials.

• Professional Development:

Stay informed about the latest hair care trends, industry innovations, and salon services.

• Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance product knowledge and consultation skills.

Others:

• Any other duties / works as assigned by your reporting superiors.

Qualifications:

• A background in cosmetology or beauty-related education is a plus.

Strong knowledge of hair types, treatments, and hair care products.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Friendly and approachable demeanor.

• Ability to actively listen to clients needs and concerns.

Sales-oriented mindset with the ability to upsell and cross-sell effectively.

• Detail-oriented and organized.

Proficiency in using salon management software for appointment scheduling.

• Understanding of salon safety and sanitation practices.
