Section Manager, Engineering (Plans)
Job Purpose
The Section Manager is responsible for leading the Engineering Plans team in preparing, tracking, and executing the workplan of Maintenance and Engineering (M&E) Group. The core focus of the job will be on ensuring quality and consistency across maintenance branches.
Responsibilities
- Lead Engineering Plans team to develop, implement and improve processes for M&E group to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
- Prepare, implement, and track yearly M&E Group workplan.
- Conduct joint investigation with branch engineers for fault findings and incident investigation.
- Coordinate, collate and prepare performance and maintenance reports across the branches for submission to the authorities.
- Facilitate audits conducted by internal auditors, the authority, and other external agencies.
- Facilitate and coordinate external projects with LTA and/or external parties.
- May be required to perform work during night hours and over weekends/public holidays.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Degree in Engineering discipline.
- Knowledge of Quality Management standards and experience in planning function.
- At least 3 years of experience in supervisory or managerial role.
- Prior work experience in railway industry or process quality and planning is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency in written communication and developing procedures.
- Experience with automation software such as Power Automate is desired.
- Basic coding skills (VBA, R, or Python) will be advantageous.
