We are seeking a highly effective Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Finance Team in our department dedicated to employment and employability!
In this role, you will support the smooth running of finance day-to-day operations as well as month-end and financial year-end closing activities.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the timely submission of grant claims, preparation and analysis of budgeting and quarterly forecasts, monitoring claims, and utilisation to funding agencies with compliance to financial policies and regulations.
- Manage fixed assets day-to-day operations and yearly asset verification exercise.
- Handle full or partial sets of accounts (Accounts Receivables and/or Accounts Payables) including reviewing of invoices, payments, receipts, and journals.
- Assist in the preparation of grant reconciliation, financial reports and audit schedules.
- Manage various grant and statutory audits within the stipulated timeline.
- Plan and coordinate the insurance policies for the organisation, liaise with business users for inputs, and work with broker on insurance matters.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and provide advise where necessary.
- Assist in system enhancement, IT projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Provide guidance to team members.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy or equivalent accounting qualification.
- Minimum 8 to 10 years of relevant experience, with supervisory skills.
- Knowledge and hands on experience in SAP S/4 accounting system is preferred.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles, experience with Grant Accounting will be an added advantage.
- Independent, positive, resourceful and a strong team player.
- Good analytical, communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Able to multi-task and work in a dynamic environment to perform duties accurately and prioritise and deliver within tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to integrity, ethics, and professionalism in all aspects of work.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
Designation and salary will commensurate with experience.
