Position: Senior Engineer - Advanced Engineering

We are partnering with our client, a global leading data centre company in search for a Senior Engineer in Advanced Engineering. You will be an integral part of the Engineering and Customer Solutions leadership team and will support stakeholders across the global Information Technology and Operations teams.
As the Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for driving innovation, product engineering, maximizing space and power efficiencies, strategic initiatives, supporting global strategic accounts, site evaluations, marketplace competitive analysis, retrofit planning, and increasing efficiency/collaboration within the CTO Team and throughout the organization, having a working knowledge of all product lines, data center designs, construction processes, marketplace, and operations including standard operating procedures and maintenance procedures.
You will have a strong technology background with the ability to guide business, innovate, and create new market opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- White Paper Development: Create detailed white papers on critical topics for the CTO Team, aimed at fostering innovation, knowledge sharing, and process optimization for internal and customer-facing use.
- Intellectual Property and Technology Evaluation: Lead initiatives to develop new IP and assess emerging technologies for strategic alignment and integration.
- Standards and Policy Documentation: Establish, maintain, and document industry standards and internal policies to streamline operations.
- Customer Design Coordination: Align facility upgrades with customer design requirements, utilizing a retrofit playbook for effective implementation.
- Strategic Account Support: Provide dedicated support to key customer accounts, ensuring their technical needs are met.
- Collaboration with Design & Construction Teams: Build strong, ongoing relationships with the Design & Construction Team, implementing a robust system of checks and balances.
- Site Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive site evaluations to ensure alignment with product design specifications.
- Competitive Analysis: Perform market sensing and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions.
- Sales Engineering Support: Assist in sales engineering efforts, contributing to deal closure through technical expertise.
- Design Engineering Guideline Development: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of the White Space Design Engineering Guideline (DEG).
Essential Skills:
- Expertise in MEP Systems: In-depth experience with MEP systems design, commissioning, start-up processes, and the development of standard operating procedures for data centers.
- Data Center Operations Knowledge: Proficient in MEP, IT site services, asset management, compliance auditing, and disaster recovery planning.
- Global Engineering Support: Experience collaborating with global engineering, architecture, and development teams.
- Building Automation Systems: Solid understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and their integration into data center operations.
- Advanced Networking Solutions: Knowledgeable in advanced networking products and solutions.
- Collaborative Leadership: Strong ability to foster productive teamwork and cross-department collaboration.
- Roadmap Development: Skilled in organizing technical and market requirements into strategic development roadmaps that deliver customer value.
- CAD Software Proficiency: Experience with Cadence CFD or AutoCAD CFD tools, as well as SolidWorks or AutoCAD Fusion.
Required Experience:
- 7+ Years of MEP Expertise: Extensive technical experience in MEP systems, with a focus on data centers (consulting engineer, on-site construction engineer, owner representative, or operations).
- 2+ Years of Data Center Design: Proven experience in the design of MEP infrastructure for data centers.
- Advanced Solution Selling: Demonstrates expertise in solution selling, including proactive customer communications, proposal development, delivery, and RFP responses.
- Technical Sales and Marketing Support: Proven track record in supporting sales and marketing initiatives through technical proposals, market research, speaking engagements, and technical writing.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
