Part of the Centre of Excellence in the Regional SD by striving to be competent in specific Solutions Design and sector-specific skills/tools
. Data gathering & analysis and able to identify the critical data gaps and make credible assumptions based on reasonable benchmarks.
. Identify requirements for, and develop appropriate proprietary tools to support the solution design process where required, e.g., cost models, productivity tools, warehouse sizing, layout design, process design, etc.
. To ensure that all recommended solutions, implementation plans meet the requirements.
. Cooperate with IT/Procurement/Security department for appropriate solution and costing.
. Build up comprehensive cost model to simulate total project budget.
. Assist Country SD Teams to build the Cost Model and Review
. Identify selling rate and revenue in finance model to BD and implementation team.
Implementation Team Member:
Ensure to deliver and explain overall solution and costing items precisely to project team.
. Gain SD Head, Operational Head and BD team's buy-off as appropriate for the proposed solution.
. Enable to facilitate communication channel within project team regarding to solutions arguments.
. Participate project kick-off meeting to follow on solution design issues during implementation period.
Operations Development Support:
Identify and implement improvements in the areas of business activities, sequence of operations/workflows, staffing, handling methods and equipment.
. Prepare facility plans and equipment layouts to maximize efficiency and space usage.
. Ensure implementation of standard operating processes, work methods, performance/throughput standards and measurement systems by using measurement tools (time and motion studies, etc.)
. Perform engineering and financial analyses of proposals along with sound economic and business justifications for expenditure.
Autonomy:
Required general supervision and expected to be able to deal with routine and less complex issues within professional field of work.
. Adhere to the requirements of country, regional and DHL corporate policy directives at all times.
. Develop and carry-out training programs that support the development of core and specialist solution design competencies across the region.
. Develop and maintain appropriate platforms and media for sharing knowledge within the solution design communities across Asia Pacific and between the regions.
Job Requirements
. Must be conversant and have experience in warehousing, transportation and broader supply chain topics to develop operationally feasible solutions
. Must have exposure to some of the following topics: storage mediums, material handling equipment, space analysis, manpower analysis, inventory/SKU analysis, operational key performance indicators, continuous improvement initiatives, transportation methods, packaging, secondary operations, costing
. Must be a proficient user of tools such as Microsoft Excel and/or Access to perform complex data analysis
. Experience in at least one modelling/simulation/CAD tool such as Paragon, CAPS, CAST, i2, Manugistics, AutoCAD or CLASS is desirable. Equivalent operations experience may be considered in lieu of modelling experience in some instances
. Should have experience with process flow diagrams, time studies, methods/work study and/or other performance analysis methodologies
. Should be proficient in PowerPoint and have experience with customer presentations and strong communication skills
. Commercially astute, Customer centric, conscientious, flexible & Innovative, Reliable Team Player
. Result-driven, tenacious, energizing, particular, self-starter
. Proven ability to manage and develop relationships and negotiate at all levels of management in a customer organization.
