Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of biomedical engineering projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- This includes preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs, and daily operations, ensuring seamless functionality within the biomedical engineering team.
- Perform and manage complex preventive maintenance and repair tasks across a wide range of biomedical systems, ensuring they operate at optimal efficiency.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues to reduce equipment downtime and increase reliability.
- Ensure patient safety and the safe usage of all biomedical equipment by overseeing proper maintenance schedules, testing procedures, and calibration of devices.
- Maintain a rigorous focus on compliance with all relevant healthcare and medical device regulations.
- Review, manage, and maintain all relevant documentation to ensure compliance with Medical Devices and Operational Technology Security requirements.
- Keep records up-to-date, accessible, and audit-ready to meet regulatory standards.
- Drive departmental improvement initiatives, either by leading or facilitating relevant improvement projects.
- Identify areas for enhancement, streamline maintenance workflows, and implement industry best practices to enhance service quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including clinical staff, IT, and external vendors, to ensure high standards of biomedical engineering services are maintained and to address equipment needs proactively.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant industry experience in a similar capacity, with demonstrated expertise in biomedical equipment maintenance, compliance, and project management.
- Strong understanding of medical device regulations and operational technology security requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience leading improvement initiatives within a healthcare or biomedical setting.
