Responsibilities
- Provide in-depth ceramics tutoring and guidance for all ceramics classes, inclusive of special technique classes
- Ability to design lesson outlines for ceramic classes
- Ability to sets up, clean, and demonstrate the use of pottery equipment and instruments safely and effectively, inclusive of kiln loading and unloading, and firing of ceramic pieces
- Design and produce AIA ceramic products for retail and commercial purposes
- Plan exhibitions and events which includes artist workshops
- Oversees and manages studio inventory, approving or facilitating purchases as needed
- Monitor and ensure a clean and safe working environment, with regular upkeep of work area, equipment, supplies, and materials
- Any other assigned ad-hoc duties.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Candidates with a minimum 2-years experience with ceramics teaching or equivalent
- Has a diploma or degree in 3D art-related qualifications, especially pottery
- Possess advanced knowledge of ceramics (Throwing, Trimming, Glazing, Slip Casting, Recycling Clay)
- Should be able to make sake sets and teapot sets
- Experience in Raku Firing and Wood Firing will be an advantage
- Passionate about working in the ceramics industry
- Meticulous, good organizational and documentation skills
- Should possess good leaderships skills, and has the ability to effectively manage a team
- Good communication skills and enjoy interacting with both customers
- Willing to work over the weekends and public holidays
