About The Role

We are recruiting for a Senior Claims Specialist to be based in our Singapore Insurance office with a hybrid schedule that has the option of working two days remotely each week.

The primary purpose of this role is to manage Everest Asia's express claims solutions including Accident & Health, Employers Liability (WICA) and some general liability, and products liability claims. This role will need to oversee management of key partnerships with Third Party Administrators and work closely with the leadership team to optimize claims solutions to support Everest's growth proposition and speed to market.

Key Accountabilities

Strategic

  • Provision of best in class claims handling service with measurable key customer propositions.
  • Assist with development of clear segmentation strategy across the claims function to bolster business targets and plans.
  • Support Head of Claims, Asia to embed strategic partnership solutions with partners in the market to deliver best in class claims solutions.
  • Personal management of complex and larger claims within portfolio to deliver Everest best practice for file management and escalation as needed.
  • Identify and monitor claims trends and issues, providing insightful and actionable feedback to underwriters, local management, and the Head of Claims, Asia.
  • Broker and customer relationship management for Asia to support the retention and acquisition of business.
  • Align, empower, and influence others through ideas, encouragement, and insight.
  • Market facing role, with the opportunity to deliver responsive, fair service to customers, brokers and partners using transparent communication.
  • Be a strong ambassador for the Everest brand and for the internal International Claims talent pool.
  • Collaborate with underwriters in developing and driving product awareness through broker market engagement.

Operational


  • Manage and oversee A&H and WICA claims solutions in Asia.
  • Provide support for Casualty claims including general liability and products.
  • Appoint, manage and guide the proficient delivery of solutions by Third party administrators (TPAs), and Service Providers for the A&H and WICA portfolios.
  • Support provision of claim quality assurance reviews and audits as necessary to ensure all claims are handled according to Everest's Claims Minimum Standards and Claims Best Practices.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and controls that are in place to meet all regulatory and corporate governance requirements.
  • Preparation of Large Claims Reports in respect of significant reserve and claims strategy adjustments where needed

Skills & Abilities


  • :6 years experience managing A&H and/or WICA insurance claims portfolio.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in managing complex claims portfolios.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication, with the ability to provide concise executive summaries to senior management.
  • Highly collaborative and able to work effectively across the organization as well as with external stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt and embrace change, solutions driven.
  • Tenacity and decisiveness, with the courage to take risks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrates respect for the opinions of others.

Professional qualifications and experience:


  • A degree educated professional, preferably Claim specific qualifications. Legal Professionals are also encouraged to apply.
  • Relevant Insurance Certification under Singapore College of Insurance including Health Insurance (HI) Certification.
  • Demonstrable experience in progressive Claim solutions and ability to tailor output based on claims segment to meet customer expectations.
  • Ability to think strategically with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to influence others and resolve complex, disputed claims.
