Position Summary:
As the Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will report to the Head of Platform Engineering and be part of a small team of cloud infrastructure engineers responsible for setting up and maintaining a robust and highly automated cloud infrastructure. You will play a pivotal role in building from scratch our cloud-native capability, with a focus on optimizing for cost, enabling software developers to develop quickly, with a strong focus on automation and cloud-native cybersecurity practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical leadership and hands-on ability
Set up the appropriate cloud infrastructure foundations
Lead and mentor technical junior members of the team, enabling professional growth and learning
Cloud Infrastructure development
Develop, build, and manage a self-service common development platform to the rest of the company, including cloud platforms, and development tools and platforms.
Define and establish a secure by design cloud platform with the necessary security policies.
Build and establish guardrails and controls in place against security misconfiguration.
Design and establish robust security monitoring and detection capabilities and establish runbooks and playbooks when incidents occur.
Define and establish best practices and processes for cost optimization on the cloud platform.
Establish and design end to end automation of infrastructure provisioning and application deployment on the cloud with practices including but not limited to infrastructure as code, and continuous integration and continuous deployment.
Design and establish common application design and architecture that meets the security, cost optimization, automation, and developer experience requirements.
Skills & Qualifications:
You may be a good fit if you have:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
You have at least five years of experience working with developers in a cloud environment as a DevOps engineer.
You have at least five years of experience working on a public cloud platform such as Amazon Web services and with infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
