Senior Cobol Developer

Job Description

• Develop and test new features
• Participate in constructive design discussions to deliver maintainable and practical solutions
• Make recommendations on how to evolve the code base
• Accurately estimate development effort
• Squash bugs
• Participate in peer code reviews
• Mentor junior developers

Requirements

• More than 5 years of experience in COBOL programming
• Well verse in using Batch COBOL, CICS COBOL and Microfocus COBOL
• Well verse in using in DB2 data structure and SQL
• Well verse in UNIX and Script developmemts
• Knowledge in Eclipse, Dbeaver and Gitlab is a plus
• Knowledge in MQ and gateway to front end systems is a plus
• Candidate should have a good understanding of Agile methodologies
• Excellent Problem-solving skills, self-motivated, adaptable, and goal-oriented
• Banking applications experience is a plus
• Experience in System Analysis (Involvement in the Functional Specs analysis and must be able to create Detailed specs for code developments)
