Responsibilities
- Lead desktop research, analysis, interpretation and reporting of corporate and strategic information.
- Project manage key (including cross-functional) strategic initiatives/projects assigned by the President.
- Prepare the relevant material for the President's engagement with Board of Trustees and follow up matters.
- Represent the President at strategic meetings with external parties, as required by the President.
- Represent the University in international fora where appropriate, to build brand, reputation and mindshare.
- Responsible for the appropriate management of ad-hoc emergent matters and troubleshooting as needed, often in collaboration with relevant offices within the University.
- Collaborate and work with Office of Corporate Communications and Marketing in the creation of executive-level communications materials for speeches, reports, and presentations; and produce, as part of a team, presentation material for President's speaking engagements.
- Serve as secretariat to the PEEC and UEEC; propose and manage meeting agenda in consultation with the President; responsible for recording of minutes of meetings, and ensuring appropriate and timely follow up on post-meeting action plans and activities.
- Other duties as may be assigned by the President.
Qualifications
- A university degree or equivalent with at least 15 years of relevant work experience in a similar capacity.
- Notable qualifications and experience in research and analysis, general administration, project management and delivery, stakeholder engagement and relationship building.
- Proficient in planning, anticipating, strategizing and initiating, without detailed instructions.
- Adept at designing and scoping projects, timelines and deliverables.
- Able to adapt and innovate under conditions of uncertainty and rapid change.
- Understanding government, public policy and public service delivery.
- Proven ability to engage and manage senior stakeholders (e.g., senior government officers, heads of NGOs and international organisations, etc.).
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills along with strong organizational skills.

Candidates who do not possess the stipulated qualifications but have relevant work experience may still apply. Remuneration and appointment terms shall commensurate with qualifications and experience. SMU reserves the right to modify the appointment terms where necessary.
