The Strategic Business Group (SBG) is led by a Managing Director and is comprised of (1) Markets: Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Africa, Philippines, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos (2) the Agency function (3) the Health function.Enable and support market performance management: Work with the BDs to monitor BU performance and outcomes. In particular, this role would:
Derive approaches and tools to enable effective performance management for the market Business Units and share with the BDs for use in their respective markets
Provide analytical insights on strategic, financial and operational information from our businesses to the MD, Chief of Staff or other key stakeholders within Prudential.
Support the Chief of Staff on deriving agendas and key deliverables for major SBG forums, e.g. CEO conferences.
Provide support to the Chief of Staff on key deals involving the SBG markets including M&A, partnerships and others, including analysing information and enabling decision making.
Keep track of major SBG actions and influence delivery against those actions Review and finalise consolidated information from the BDs
SBG narrative: Be the author and designer of the SBG's major external content. Eg:
Author messaging about the SBG's markets for investor reporting as well as Group Executive and Board presentations. Gather inputs from relevant sources, understand critical points and bring together in concise and impactful communications.
Draft scripts, documents and speeches for the MD including but not limited to Board, Regulator meetings, Agency events and other major situations.
Craft position papers for decisions at GEC and Board, balancing in depth analysis and clear and simple communications to maximise impact on readers. Support the Agency and Health teams to enhance their content where required.
Support key SBG management activities: Working with the CoS, this will include:
Planning and executing major SBG meetings and events
Track major SBG actions and ensure delivery to timelines
Minimum 12 years of work experience
Ideally have experience in an insurance institution (though other financial institutions are welcome)
Ideally have experience in Strategy team or Financial Planning & Analysis
Proven track record of dealing with senior management
Excellent command of English, and ability to write documents intended for the highest levels of the organization
Ability to understand insurance financial metrics and quickly draw insights
Excellent organization skills and ability to keep track of several complex tasks at once.
Strong in communication, presentation, business acumen
Ability of work strategically and collaboration with other individuals within the SBG and other functions
