Position Description
Located at QIAGENs Singapore site, you will be part of the global EHS team working in close contact with our colleagues from different departments and sites globally.
- As the local EHS professional, you will develop and execute comprehensive EHS programs, ensuring compliance with environmental & safety legislation and implement risk mitigation strategies for the Singapore site. This will include the management of the site EHS management system.
- As the expert for (chemical) product safety, you will provide regulatory support and guidance to colleagues based in other QIAGEN sites and external customers regarding chemical compliance for the APAC region.
- Your work will include monitoring trends and developments in relevant EHS as well as chemical product safety regulations and assessing the impact on our operations and product portfolio.
- In addition, you will be responsible for reporting on safety performance and Extended Producer Reporting related to the Singapore site.
- You will maintain data in SAP EH&S on products, raw materials as well as legal requirements from chemical and environmental regulations. Based on that, you will author and maintain safety data sheets (SDS) for different markets and provide classification and labelling data according to GHS and dangerous goods regulations.
- Auditing the QIAGENs APAC sites against the Global Environmental and Health and Safety Standards.
- You will act as a license holder for EHS relevant licenses for the Singapore site.
Position Requirements
- Bachelors degree in (bio)chemistry, environment, health & safety or technical science (or other relevant disciplines)
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Relevant experience in a similar industry dealing with OHS topics, product safety, occupational safety, or a similar regulatory context.
- Enjoys working on various tasks in a dynamic work environment.
- Expertise in chemical regulations (e.g. restricted chemicals, classification and labelling requirements, biocidal legislation requirement and dangerous goods regulations), knowledge in the field of extended producer responsibility (EPR) is an asset.
- Experience with ISO 14001/ISO 45001 management systems is desirable

- Demonstrated strong attention to detail, as well as the ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.
- Possess strong organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the QIAGEN organization, as well as with key individuals outside the organization.
- Self-motivated and able to take initiative.
