Responsibilities
This position is for Office of Admissions and Financial Assistance (OAFA).
Main liaison officer for Games-Based Assessment (GBA)
- The staff will assist to work with the vendor to plan and run the games-based assessment (GBA).
- There will be 4 different launch plans for the GBA to cater to different groups of prospective students.
- Early admissions students to do GBA in January
- Scholars students to do GBA in March
- Discovery Day student to do GBA in April
- Regular admission students to do GBA in April
Handle admissions matters for Computer Science programme and Software Engineering programme.
- The staff will handle the admission matters for the Computer Science programme and Software Engineering programme. This includes:
- Reviewing each application individually to verify the authenticity and accuracy of applicants high school results and other relevant details.
- Setting up and hosting virtual Zoom sessions for CS and SE faculty members to conduct applicant interviews.
- Ensuring applicants attempt the tests set by SCIS before their interviews.
- Contacting applicants to inform them of their scholarships outcomes.
- Contacting applicants to inform them of their interview dates/times.
- Handling applicants requests to change programme / appeal their admissions decision.
- Updating of applications on SMU's applications portal.
- Handling applicants queries.
Post admission surveys
Students And Parents Of Students Who Accepted Or Rejection Ed SMU Admission Offers Will Be Invited To Do Surveys From June To July. To Manage The Following
- To update survey questions
- Send survey links and reminders to students and parents
- Manage student helpers making calls to ensure the survey participation percentages reach 75% or higher.
- Work with Qlik Sense team to ensure survey results are ported timely and accurately to the Qlik Sense Survey Analytics dashboard.
To support key outreach events such as the Schools Learning Journeys to SMU, school fairs or booths in Junior Colleges and Polytechnics, SMU Poly Day, Scholarship Showcase, SMU IB Day and other signature admissions events.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree with at least 2 years of work experience.
- Good communication skills and enjoy talking to people.
- Meticulous, with strong administrative skills and the ability to multi-task across different projects.
- Proficient with Office tools such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Proficient with technology tools such as Zoom, and willing to learn new systems.
- Strong customer service mindset with the ability to respond to different types of personalities.
- Knowledge of and interest in SMU will be an advantage.
Other Information
Candidates who do not possess the stipulated qualifications but have relevant work experience may still apply. Remuneration and appointment terms shall commensurate with qualifications and experience. SMU reserves the right to modify the appointment terms where necessary.
