ABOUT UNLEASH THE ROAR! & THE LEAGUES & COMPETITION TEAM
Unleash the Roar! (UTR!) is a national movement which aims to raise the levels of Singapore football, build strong support systems to nurture our next generation of talents and rally the nation behind the share dream. It is a long-term, whole-of-society effort covering grassroots development, elite youth pathways, infrastructure and community / fan engagement.
A critical part of UTR!s development pathway focuses on expanding competitive opportunities. The Leagues & Competitions (L&C) team will be responsible for a variety of leagues, competitions and training camps to ensure that our talented young players have the chances to compete regularly and develop their skills in a high-level, intense competitive environment both locally and overseas.
Reporting to the L&C Team Lead, you will primarily be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing primarily the overseas training camps & competitions. You will also be required to support other team members in the Singapore Youth League (SYL) and other local tournaments, competitions and events during event peaks when necessary.
Job Descriptions:
1.Events & Competitions Planning and Coordination:
- Develop plans for the mid-year and end-year overseas training camps and competitions, including objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to understand their vision, goals, and specific requirements.
- Research and recommend venues, vendors, and suppliers that align with needs and budget constraints.
2.Budget Management:
- Create and manage events, competitions & travelling budgets, ensuring all expenses are accounted for and within approved limits.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors, venues, and suppliers to obtain the best terms and pricing.
- Monitor and report on budget performance, making adjustments as needed.
3.Team and Vendor Coordination:
- Work closely with team members collaboratively to ensure smooth planning & operations of overseas training trips.
- Coordinate with travel agents, vendors and service providers, ensuring they deliver as per agreed terms and standards.
- Handle on-site logistics, including setup, teardown, and managing event flow.
4.Stakeholder Relations:
- Liaise with key stakeholders such as clubs, sporting associations, technical officials, sponsors, parents regarding competition matters.
- Serve as effective contact point for stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns.
- Ensure stakeholder's expectations are met through effective communication and problem-solving.
5.Logistics and Operations:
- Oversee the logistical aspects of events, competitions & overseas trips, including transportation, catering, equipment, accommodations etc.
- Ensure all regulatory and compliance requirements are met for each event.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure all aspects of the events & competitions are in order.
6.Post-Overseas Training Evaluation & Recommendations:
- Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present event reports, including attendee feedback, financial performance, and lessons learned.
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders for potential future collaborations.
Requirments:
- Diploma and above from sport management, business administration or related field. Renumeration / package will commensurate with candidates qualifications and experience.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in event management for both Senior Executive and Executive level. Fresh graduates with good aptitude are welcome to apply.
- Prior knowledge of / network with reputable overseas youth competitions, training camps etc will be an advantage.
- Detail-oriented and results-driven.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, competing timelines / deliverables simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Customer service orientation and collaborative in mindset.
- Can work independently and have problem solving skills and ability to navigate in ambiguous and dynamic work environment.
- This job will require some weekend work with time-off provisions.
