The Department of Student Development (SD) aims to provide all SP students with a positive Polytechnic experience through meaningful out-of-classroom activities.
As part of the Service-Learning team, the appointee will be required to formulate and implement student development programmes and policies, manage and mentor student CCA groups and provide opportunities for student leadership and character development. He/she will be required to work with both internal and external stakeholders to organize SP-wide events to enhance campus vibrancy, as well as formulate, coordinate and facilitate programmes for experiential learning. The job also requires the appointee to take on roles in other committees while supporting the administrative system and processes of the department and section. He/she should be open to job mobility.
- Oversee the management of Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) clubs in SP, plan and implement programmes to develop clubs in SP. This includes:
- Managing CCA clubs in SP, guide and develop students, administrative matters for the clubs.
- Manage student development programmes in SP. Formulate and implement Service-Learning programmes, policies and related systems. This includes:
- Design suitable content and planning/ conducting Service-Learning related workshops and programmes for SP student leaders, general student population and staff
- Support administration functions for the programmes (e.g. data analysis, registration etc.)
- Liaise with different stakeholders and manage project for related Service-Learning programmes
- Work with external vendors on programme design, improvement and implementation
- Conduct observations for vendors on actual programmes/activities
- Lead, create and manage content on online platforms and social media for Service-Learning related programmes (where applicable)
- At least 2 years relevant working experience preferably in the education or related sector, with a strong interest and track record in student development and Service-Learning related programmes.
- Possess related knowledge and experience in event management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Certifications in education or student development related field i.e. mentoring youths, facilitation etc., will be an added advantage.
- Possess passion and ability to manage student CCAs and provide mentoring/coaching to students
- Demonstrate ability to network with partners to curate/conduct student development programmes
- Demonstrate ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
- Be pro-active and meticulous with strong operational and administrative skills
Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
