Job Purpose
To manage the overall Supply Chain operations in the company:
- Identifying and qualifying supplier, source and periodic price negotiation for direct and indirect supplies so as to expand supplier base and reduce company cost.
- Ensure assurance of supplies with minimum inventory levels to ensure order fulfillment
- Manage warehouse operations to achieve Inventory accuracy and orders fulfillment.
Core Responsibilities
Procurement
- Source and identify suppliers for direct/indirect materials/services to expand supplier base and for new project/production needs.
- Obtain quotes from newly source suppliers to achieve competitive costing and continuous cost reduction
- Lead in conducting periodic price negotiation with suppliers to ensure competency in cost for materials/services.
- Be part of team to conduct supplier qualification audit as well as parts qualification to ensure suppliers can meet company needs.
- Qualify suppliers once suppliers are selected in order to add suppliers into the Approved Vendor List.
- Conduct supplier performance review on a regular basis to manage supplier qualify and updates on suppliers capabilities.
- Maintain standard operating procedures applicable to the Procurement department to ensure work flow process are consistence.
- Develop and negotiate favorable supply agreement with suppliers.
- Work with other department and suppliers to develop appropriate supply chain model to ensure assurance of supplies with minimal inventory holdings
- Work with other department like Engineering/Warehouse to ascertain quality standards of items supplied and established Quality plan
- Supervise & train junior staff in leading the team in accomplishing all above duties.
- Any other task/project assigned by management
Purchasing
- Develop Purchasing strategy for different categories of supplies to ensure on time order fulfilment with minimum inventory for direct purchases
- Ensure all indirect purchases needs of company is being fulfilled based on user's needs
- Review Purchasing strategy periodically with Management to propose change when market trend changes
- Provide periodic alert and updates to customer (internal/external) to ensure any issues/delays are promptly highlighted and necessary actions are taken
- Work with principals/suppliers to ensure goods are delivered on time to fulfill customers/company's needs
Warehousing
- Manage warehouse team to ensure timely receiving/issuance of materials
- Manage warehouse team to achieve order fulfillment requirements specific to all customer
- Ensure overall inventory integrity of all goods in warehouse
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 2 years of related experience in a supply chain management role would be an advantage.
- Work experience in both direct & indirect materials sourcing and purchasing would be an advantage.
- Ariba, SAP knowledge is an advantage.
- Experience with requirements and risk management expectations related to outsourcing and vendor management is an advantage.
- Expert negotiation/influencing skills with demonstrated ability to influence negotiated outcomes required.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills grounded in continuous quality improvement required.
- Proven ability to plan and perform and have been involved in work presenting new or regularly changing problems, work from broad instruction, deal with complex factors not easily evaluated.
- Excelled interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective vendor, business partner, and regulatory relationships, influence decisions and collaborate effectively across the organization required.
- Proven ability to review, monitor, and recommend amendments to contracts and implement business processes to manage against contractual obligations required.
- Extensive spread sheet analysis and strong mathematical abilities for planning of stock control and replenishment.
Qualifications / Certifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or related fields. Relevant logistics or procurement certification is an advantage.
