Purpose and Scope
We are looking for a highly motivated, driven and experienced individual to join our team to provide legal and compliance advisory to the business units located in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Partner business stakeholder and oversee delivery of legal and compliance services and resources to accomplish corporate goals, strategies, and priorities
Provide legal support and advice to senior management and all internal stakeholders on legal and compliance matters
Draft, review and negotiate with external counterparts on a variety of commercial agreements common within the energy and utilities industry such as utilities services agreements, power purchase agreements, engineering procurement & construction agreements and, natural gas agreements (for both piped gas and LNG)
Prior experience in advising on natural gas related contracts, project financing and/or mergers & acquisitions would be an added advantage
Review and provide recommendations on the legal aspects and considerations for resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries
Implement and manage Group company policies, procedures and standards related to legal and compliance matters
Monitor changes to regulatory requirements and proactively handle regulatory developments and compliance updates
Provide time-sensitive support on a wide array of legal and compliance inquiries in all operational aspects
Identify and consult on legal and compliance risks in connection with the companys developments
Lead or support other projects and tasks as may be required from time to time
Qualifications & Experience
Possess a Law degree with at least 8-12 years post qualification legal experience
Experience working in the energy industry, especially for renewable energy e.g. solar and natural gas would be preferred to manage matters independently with minimal supervision
Familiarity with Indonesia or Philippines law is an added advantage
Excellent in the knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures
Admitted to the roll of solicitors of in the UK or the Singapore Bar
