Job Description

We are looking for a skilled maintenance planning engineer to manage the maintenance of bulk handling equipment in the heavy cargo industry. The role requires expertise in performing preventive maintenance and repair works with strong root cause analysis & condition-based monitoring skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute maintenance plans and schedules, considering equipment needs and available resources.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure maintenance activities are coordinated and cause minimal disruption to daily operations.
  • Plan and organize equipment inspections, servicing, and overhauls during scheduled downtimes.
  • Handle both short- and long-term planning and scheduling, while responding to emergencies and schedule changes as needed.
  • Work closely with the procurement department to request quotations or tenders for term contracts and external ad-hoc services required by the maintenance team.
  • Coordinate with term contractors, planning maintenance schedules as necessary.
  • Monitor term contractors insurance policies and security deposits throughout the contract duration.
  • Collaborate with team leaders to initiate purchase requisitions for the use of term contract services.
  • Establish and maintain standardized processes, procedures, and workflows for maintenance planning.
  • Continuously review and improve maintenance processes, including the work order system, to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Recommend industry-standard best practices to improve operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, such as work orders, maintenance procedures, and schedules.
  • Analyze breakdown reports and ensure correct categorization in collaboration with team leaders.
  • Provide regular reports on adherence to maintenance schedules.

Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma in a technical field, preferably in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an engineering role, with a minimum of 3 years in a scheduling position, demonstrating success in implementing and managing master schedules.
  • Proven experience in performing preventive maintenance and repair work.
  • Strong team player with excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in IT applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
