Working as an integral part of our small dynamic team, this role's primary responsibility is for the accurate reporting of business transactions and information that will facilitate planning decisions for the organisation. You will also complete the end-to-end process of reconciliation of all finance information from the group through to the preparation of the monthly/quarterly management reports. This is an autonomous role and will suit someone who is self-motivated and can manage tasks and priorities accordingly.
Roles and responsibilities:
Month/Year-end financial reporting
- Oversee and review the financial accountants work during the month-end close process.
- Develop a deep understanding of business unit strategies and financial performance.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management reports, including budget variance analysis and detailed commentary on key transactions and individual division results, for senior management.
- Present financial results and insights to business unit leaders across the company.
- Prepare quarterly board and shareholder reports, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Produce and present high-quality, error-free accounting reports to the head of finance and senior management.
- Maintain and enhance accounting controls by recommending and implementing policies and procedures.
- Ensure KPI dashboards are regularly updated and reflect key business metrics.
- Support ad-hoc projects and deliver further financial analysis as needed.
- Manage cost centre reporting and provide insights on budget performance.
Budget
- Lead the preparation of the consolidated annual budget and forecast, and report variances between actual results and the budget in monthly management reports.
Chart of Accounts and Cost Centre
- Responsible for maintaining and managing group chart of accounts and cost centre.
Audit
- Assist the team with documentation requirements associated with external audit.
Continuous Improvement
- Always have a mindset of challenging current norms and question why we do things the way we do. Can we improve on what we are currently doing
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Taking part in systems and process improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Singaporean/Singapore PR only
- CIMA/ACMA/CPA qualified
- Minimum of 6 years experience in an accounting role.
- Proven experience as a management accountant is a requirement
- Experience in top tier accounting firm would be prioritised
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like Xero, Fathom etc.
- Advanced MS Excel skills and MS PowerPoint skills.
- Financial services experience an added advantage.
