About The Role
The Market Analysis team sits in the Commercial Product Group and is responsible for generating short-to-medium term market insights (up-to 5 years). This incorporates supply and competitor analysis; demand forecasts (including downstream sectors); trading support; and price forecasting. The team focus is to leverage these insights and analysis to support Commercial decision-making and generate value across Sales & Marketing, Procurement and Marine & Logistics. The Market Analysis team also provide short-to-medium term market context and commodity price forecasts across the Group.
We are looking for a
Senior
Manager, Market Analysis Copper & by-products to join a high performing team, support cash generation and business growth through market analysis and insight and influence Commercial Strategy.
Reporting to the Head of Market Analysis, you will
- Deepen and broaden our understanding of all facets of copper and by-product markets (including molybdenum, sulphuric acid, gold).
- Deliver insights to the Sales & Marketing teams to improve commercial outcomes eg trading and negotiation support, customer and competitor intel, price forecasts, tools, models and scenarios.
- Support the marketing development plans for our copper growth assets.
- Manage projects with external experts to expand and deepen commodity knowledge.
- Collaborate with other Market Analysis teams to draw cross-commodity insights and share best-practice.
- Own and develop our propriety models associated with copper analysis i.e., supply cost curves, demand models, pricing frameworks.
- Be armed with resources and provide strong leadership and develop capability in the team to achieve the above goals.
About You
- University degree in either economics, technical or commercial discipline.
- Minimum 10 years relevant experience within a commodity focused MNC.
- Demonstrated and deep understanding of copper supply chains and by-products.
- Proven relevant experience and analytical skills with the ability to critically analyse data and identify trends and key drivers.
- Ability to understand and manipulate complex technical information from a variety of technical disciplines.
- Proven ability to present concepts and results clearly.
- Excellent and proven project management skills.
- Proven ability to lead a team and develop capabilities to achieve results.
- A proven ability to further develop existing relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working in an international setting will be an advantage.
- Excellent IT skills including the use of MS Office and Power BI well-regarded.
- Advanced written and spoken English.
