Job Description
This role as the Procurement Business Partner is primarily responsible for the establishment of category strategies and tactics for the procurement of goods and services to meet strategic business objectives, and to maximise value and cost savings for the organisation. This role is also expected to provide sound procurement advisories to end users within the organisation, throughout the sourcing process and through the establishment of categories strategies and guidelines. This role will also be expected to front procurement discussions across a range of stakeholders, ranging from junior working-level staff to C-suite stakeholders
The individual will join the team mainly as an individual contributor as a Procurement Business Partner. Roles will include, but not limited to, the following:
Manage the end-to-end procurement process for the identified stakeholders as the subject matter expert (including user engagement, understanding users business requirements and strategic intent, conduct sourcing via Ariba, lead interactions with relevant suppliers, and support in approval and contracting matters)
Provide advisories as the category subject matter expert to end users throughout the sourcing process and through the establishment of categories strategies and guidelines
Provide intelligence, recommendation, solutioning to users and management based on policy, experience, market knowledge and best practices
Actively track and report the procurement spend for the identified category/categories
Leverage on strategies and negotiation tactics to derive best understanding and value of suppliers pricing proposals
Effective stakeholder management to establish strong and trusted working relationships by connecting with stakeholders within the business through content sharing, and day-to-day conversations to advise on procurement policy and processes to ensure compliance and governance
Engage and build professional working relationships with external stakeholders (key suppliers) to build up market knowledge and best practices for the team
Ability to front procurement discussions across a range of stakeholders, ranging from junior working-level staff to C-suite stakeholders.
Support DVP, Procurement as category subject matter expert in the review of policies, process improvements, and system related matters, including investigations in day-to-day transactions, and annual audit requirements
Take on ad-hoc procurement projects and initiatives which may include testing of new functionalities in the e-Procurement systems, establishing new process workflow to improve sourcing process etc.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Economics, Real Estate or Information Technology or relevant
Professional bodies certification (eg. CIPS) would be an added advantage
At least 8 years working experience in an enterprise, with minimum 5 years in a professional buying and/or sourcing role
Experience in managing buying/sourcing in the Real Estate or IT category (including hardware, software, network & infrastructure, hosted applications, services etc) is a preferred requirement.
Experience in other spend categories such as HR, Media/Communications, and Professional services would be an added advantage
Experience with SAP Ariba would be an added advantage
