Energy Aspects currently has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Light Ends Analyst spanning gasoline, naphtha and LPG to join our growing global oil team. This is a fantastic career opportunity for a commercially minded analyst with 5+ years of exposure to gasoline and light ends markets to help develop our expanding Oil Products service.
As a senior market analyst, responsibilities will span the full cycle of our work, from monitoring market developments, writing concise analysis, presenting to clients and maintaining data models. You will leverage your experience in analysing market fundamentals to confidently make clear and logical market calls and shape our forward-looking views. This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, a commitment to excellence and precision in delivering top-tier research and analysis.
This position will require flexibility and the drive to go beyond the core hours when needed, ensuring we all fulfil our goals. Duties
Produce relevant and insightful reports and analyses on market movements, to highlight challenges and opportunities for physical and financial traders, hedgers etc.
Predict and comment on market movements, formally through our publications and on an ad-hoc basis with our clients.
Collaborate with the wider global team to ensure that our service offering meet our standards for quality, accuracy and depth of insight.
Build and maintain strong internal and external networks.
Maintain and improve balances and models, in coordination with the wider team.
Help to formulate the EA view of the global Oil Products markets.
Presenting EAs views on Oil Products to clients and prospects.
Enable the broader team to undertake more bespoke research for clients when required.
Requirements
Solid demonstrable experience analysing light-end products markets, with a focus on gasoline.
Preferably strong knowledge of naphtha and LPG markets, or some cross-barrel experience.
Experience in writing reports and conducting presentations.
Experience in analysing the short-term future of oil products supply and demand.
Fundamental modelling experience (build and maintain complex refining models, work with statistical tools, regression modelling).
Knowledge of global oil products markets, tradeflows and refining processes.
Proficiency with MS Applications (Excel, Word, Power Point).
Attention to detail is a prerequisite for this role in both handling data and written English.
The ability to meet deadlines and work effectively with others, including colleagues in different time zones, to deliver timely analysis will be critical.
Desirable Skills:
Data analysis and coding skills, using languages like Python, SQL or similar, would be advantageous.
