Our client, a distinguished boutique hedge fund, is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to oversee both cross-functional initiatives and day-to-day operational tasks across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for all operational functions, spanning both back-office and middle-office activities, ensuring seamless processes and coordination
- Lead the automation of the entire trade lifecycle, including allocation, trade matching, confirmations, settlements, and reconciliation, with an emphasis on improving efficiency on coverage basis
- Perform thorough reviews of daily Net Asset Value (NAV) and profit & loss (P&L) calculations for both internal stakeholders and external reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
- Cultivate and manage strong relationships with key external service providers, such as prime brokers, fund administrators, and auditors, ensuring smooth and efficient collaboration
- Work closely with service providers to manage Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance, specifically for high-net-worth (HNW) and institutional investors, ensuring all regulatory standards are met
- Assist in the review and negotiation of legal documents, agreements, and other related documentation, ensuring all operational aspects are appropriately addressed and aligned with regulatory and compliance standards
- Actively contribute to the development and expansion of the firm's wealth management EAM business, supporting strategic initiatives and ensuring operational alignment
- Play an integral role in managing internal and external audit processes, working closely with auditors to ensure timely and accurate audits and regulatory compliance
Key Requirements:
- A degree in Business, Finance, or a relevant discipline is required
- At least 6 to 12 years of hands-on experience in hedge fund operations, ideally with a strong preference for candidates who have worked on the buy side
- In-depth knowledge and experience across a range of asset classes, including equities, futures, and options, with a deep understanding of trading and settlement processes
- Proficient in using TORA systems (both OMS and PMS) and other relevant operational tools to streamline trade and portfolio management processes
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to perform advanced functions and data analysis
- Familiarity with KYC/AML regulations, particularly as they apply to high-net-worth and institutional investors, is highly preferred
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive operational improvements across teams
