A. JOB SCOPE/ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Overview
The senior operations supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the overall operational aspects of SPD's Hospitality Enclave Project under the Supported Employment Programme.
This role involves working closely with various stakeholders, including trainees, employers, and the supported employment team, to ensure the smooth execution of the project, leading to the outcomes of achieving meaningful employment and independence for persons with disabilities.
The ideal candidate should possess a blend of relevant qualifications, work experience, and skillsets to effectively oversee the operational aspects of the project, while being heavily involved in the vocational training and job placement for the trainees.
Key Responsibilities
1. Management ofTrainees: Upskill trainees to achieve the outcomes of the project and customers and identify and resolve challenges faced by trainees.
2. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with various stakeholders to provide recommendations and suggestions to improve trainees performance, address any issues that may arise during the training period and achieve the agreed outcomes.
3. Attendance Monitoring: Track trainees attendance to ensure compliance with programme requirements.
4. Performance Evaluation: Conduct monthly goal setting and performance evaluation of trainees to assess progress and identify areas for improvement. Provide regular updates on trainees progress during regular meetings with stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment of expectations.
5. Worksite Liaison: Collaborate with trainees reporting officers/supervisors from the customer (hotel) at the project premises to address any matters relating to trainees performance or job duties. Promptly report any incidents or issues occurring at the premises for further action and resolution.
6. Meeting Attendance: Attend meetings as required by the programme to provide updates and insights on trainees progress and other operational matters.
7. Work Schedule:Manage the work roster to accommodate the project site's requirements, plan trainees activities and provide the necessary support where necessary.
8. Project Planning and Implementation: Work closely with the supported employment team to plan and implement new enclave projects, ensuring timely and successful implementation and completion within stipulated project timelines.
9. Training of New Supervisors: Provide training for supervisors of new hospitality enclaves at other hotel work sites.
10. Additional Duties: Undertake any other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the overall success of supported employment projects.
B. JOB HOLDER'S REQUIREMENTS
1. Minimum Diploma qualification, preferably with at least 2 years of experience in hospitality and/or social service-related field.
2. Prior experience in hospitality industry, job coaching or working with people with disabilities will be an advantage. Prior housekeeping experience would be a bonus.
3. Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve issues at work, with strong problem-solving skills.
4. Detail-oriented with excellent observation skills to effectively monitor trainee progress and identify areas for improvement.
5. Strong communication and people management skills to effectively support trainees in their roles.
6. Proficient in computer skills and adept at using virtual platforms such as MS Teams for communication and collaboration.
7. Adaptable to change and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
8. Willingness to be deployed to project sites as required for on-site supervision and support.
9. Self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders.
