Responsibilities
- Professional Practice
- Provide pharmaceutical care, working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team in various clinical settings, including outpatient, inpatient, ambulatory care and community settings.
- Recommend and monitor drug therapy to achieve desired outcomes.
- Provide drug information to other healthcare professional and patients.
- Identify, resolve and prevent drug-related problems.
- Duties include: dispensing and educating patients on their medications, medication review and reconciliation, therapeutic interventions and recommendations, multidisciplinary rounds, running ambulatory care clinics and collaborative prescribing for qualified persons.
- Leadership, Management and Quality Improvement
- Organize and supervise dispensing of medication and fee collection at Pharmacy according to protocols and legal requirements.
- Organize and supervise inventory management.
- Supervise and develop pharmacy staff.
- Analyse information, and work with team members and other healthcare professionals to drive clinical and quality improvement e.g. involvement in Innovation (data analytics, automation), Quality Improvement or Patient Safety Projects.
- Assist in preparation and review of clinical and operational procedures.
- Ensure pharmacy policies and procedures are implemented consistently.
- Education, Training, Development and Research
- Participate in pharmacy education, research, personal and leadership development and professional society activities.
- Provide training for interns, pharmacy students, pre-registration Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.
- Provide in-service programmes for pharmacy personnel and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide public education and health prevention outreach.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or equivalent.
- Registered with Singapore Pharmacy Council.
- Preferably 1 year of experience in hospital or retail environment.
- Strong oral and writing skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
