Caterpillar's Electric Power division has an exciting opportunity for Senior Product Consultant in our Large Electric Power (LEP) business.
In this role, you will support go-to-market initiatives, and sales execution as a subject matter expert of assigned portfolio of products and services. This role requires influence on bid specs, push for more Gas, Caterpillar Switchgear Solutions, Energy Storage, EAAS, and microgrid opportunities. With the expected growth in the overall power market, plus growth from other Caterpillar related products, an annual sales goal of this role should be achieved.
What You Will Do
- With prior experience working with economic dispatch or reliability as a service, represent Caterpillar in design for select key projects, promoting full Cat Electric Power product line, to determine a best solution for the customer and the project needs.
- Focus on early design engagement, provide Cat pre-sales support, and collaborate with Cat field teams and Cat Dealers.
- Have a direct relationship with large key consulting engineers and EPCs.
- Develop professional network both internally and externally.
- Be the subject matter expert in energy supply markets, energy demand management and energy asset management.
- Attend professional society meetings, educational seminars, and short courses to stay current.
- Develop awareness of commercial aspects of procurement to help make strategic sourcing recommendations in support of the cost, quality, and velocity objectives of the commodity.
- Develop skills to build long-term external relationships with customers as well as internal relationships with business unit customers are also expected.
- Leverage on knowledge of others, develops and nurtures strategic relationships with end customers.
- Be well versed with Caterpillar's electric power product line, and the energy consumption of its manufacturing processes.
What You Have
- Proven experience in business development.
- Prior experience working with contractors and consultants in this industry.
- Ability to manage and implement project ideas.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Technical leadership skills and ability to recognize and demonstrate solid energy reduction opportunities.
- Can read and interpret electrical schematics.
Additional Info
This role requires travelling up to 50% of the time within Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea.
