The Senior/Production Supervisor supervises production staff to ensure production targets are met, in accordance with organisation policies and workplace safety and health regulations. He/She is responsible for planning, assigning and directing work, coordinating weekly meetings, addressing product and employee complaints, and resolving problems. He/She also implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements with a view to increase efficiency and productivity in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
He/She works with colleagues in a manufacturing plant setting. He/She possesses leadership and communication skills to set direction to achieve organisational goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day production activities, including scheduling, workflows, capacity planning but not limited to cost rate, production variance, work-in-progress inventory and its accuracy, quality yield, capacity and etc.
- Ensure efficient production operations by supervising staff, providing guidance, and fostering optimal performance.
- Improve & maintain quality standards through training, certification, and development of operators through On-the-Job training, skill certification, training of second liners, monitoring and reviewing production lines quality standards, and working with related Departments for support and corrective action plans for quality improvement.
- Influence organisational development and strategy by leading the team's work activities to develop operational plans to achieve organizational goals.
Requirements
- Diploma in Engineering/ Manufacturing Management/ Supply Chain Management or related discipline.
- Preferably with 5 years of working experience in a low volume, high mix manufacturing of Measurement or Processing Equipment, and minimum 3 years in a Supervisory position.
- Experience in driving operational excellence through lean manufacturing techniques.
- Experience in SAP or related ERP system.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface at all levels including management and staff levels, both internally and externally.
