Senior Quality Control Analyst (F&B), Singapore
As a Senior Quality Control Analyst, you will be tasked to manage both raw materials and finished goods to ensure that quality specifications and standards are met according to the customers requirements and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). You will be required to conduct various test methods including sensory analysis, sample analysis, qualitative and quantitative analyses. Additionally, you will be supporting respective Quality Control team on day-to-day operations and provide further assistance on arising issues and to initiate investigations by troubleshooting and facilitates effective decision-making for next steps. Furthermore, you will be working in a highly collaborative environment with supportive colleagues here at Symrise and you will gain exposure to various good challenges to build stronger partnership with key stakeholders to further contribute to the business growth.
The Position:
Conduct routine physical, chemical, sensory and other analyses accordingly.
Operate laboratory equipment (e.g. GC-FID, GC/MS, HPLC and Auto-titrator), perform basic preventive maintenance, equipment verification/calibration and analytical method verification.
Perform data entry and documentation process to maintain traceability
Conduct risk assessment and decision making for approval/rejection of batches of Flavor raw materials/finished products based on the test results against the set specification and customers requirements within lead-time.
Take appropriate decisions for rework of material based on historical trend and in consultation with seniors
Raise non-conformation for quality deviations of Raw Material/Finished Goods and follow up for proper closure of corrective and preventive action
Initiate actions to investigate customer complaint in consultation with relevant team members
Collect comprehensive evidence/crucial data, provide sound reasoning and propose possible root cause for customer complaints and internal rejection
Ensure that the Companys agreed quality standards are maintained with regards to its customer contract and agreements
Develop/maintain quality specifications and standards for raw materials, intermediates and finished product
Maintain up-to-date quality control programs, policies, process flows, procedures and work instructions
Propose/conduct optimization of workflow to increase productivity, practice sustainability and ensure laboratory safety.
Make effective timely communications with other stakeholders such as purchasing, production, planning, regulatory and customer service to avoid any delays.
Provide support to other Quality Control teams if required.
Handle critical tasks during the absence of supervisor to ensure business continuity.
The Ideal Candidate:
Degree in relevant science field including Chemistry, Flavors/Fragrance and Food Science.
Min. 5 years of relevant experience with good exposure in sensory analysis. Experience in Flavor and Fragrance industry is an added advantage.
Possess good knowledge of chemical properties, especially in flavor and fragrance.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Basic process knowledge of production work
Hands-on experience in various laboratory equipment such as Gas Chromatography (GC), Gas Chromatography with Flame Ionization Detection (GC-FID), Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Auto-Titrator is required.
Excellence in writing technical communication/reports
Knowledge of Laboratory Safety and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
