Duties & Responsibilities
- The Senior QS shall play a key role in the preparation of tender documents and quantities, providing cost estimates, evaluating tender proposals, conducting project feasibility studies and managing cost information for assigned project
- He/she will need to monitor and verify all tender documents, drawings/details and corrigendum based on the document control process
- Reviewing, preparing and monitor project cost budget, cash-flow for project, track changes in design/construction work, variations and adjust budget projections accordingly
- Project Procurement and Purchasing
- Project Progress Claims, Variations and Final Accounts
- General contracts administration, including payment, claims and Variation Orders
- Negotiation with subcontractors/suppliers, based on good knowledge of market rates
- Provide evaluation/findings and project results to HQ Tokyo in Japan on regular basis
Job Requirements
- At least 15 years working experience in QS Department in the construction industry
- Very well verse in processes & requirements of construction industry projects
- Should possess a minimum qualification of recognised Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Construction/Building
- Fluency in spoken and written Japanese is necessary as incumbent will constantly communicate and collaborate with counterparts in Japan Head Office including filing of work progress reports
- Possession of strong organisational, reporting and analytical skills
- Capable of translating technical business reports from English to Japanese and vice versa
