POSITION DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform patient assessment and appropriate interventions for effective ICU patient's outcomes. Coordinate patient care and provide quality nursing care in the ICU.
- Perform basic and complex nursing procedures and treatments to meet the general comfort and well-being of the ICU patient.
- Demonstrate competency in clinical skills and knowledge such as performing IV cannulation, performed and preparing for haemodynamic monitoring, venepuncture for blood sampling, IV administration of medications and fluids, administration of controlled drugs, ECG monitoring and interpretation, cardiac monitoring as well as other critical care related nursing procedures.
- Provide patient education and participate in patient's rehabilitation, involving the patient's family as necessary.
- Assist Surgeons / Physicians on patient rounds during treatment / procedures and examination of patient.
- Set up and monitor medical equipment and devices such as cardiac monitors, mechanical ventilators and alarms, oxygen delivery devices, transducers and pressure lines.
- Prioritize nursing care for assigned critically ill patients based on assessment data and identified needs.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager and Nurse Clinician.
QUALIIFCATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate as a registered nurse (RN) from an accredited school by Singapore Nursing Board with either Certificate, Diploma or Degree
- Advanced Diploma or Post Basic in Critical Care certification
- Min 3 years of ICU Experiences
- Full Registration with Singapore Nursing Board
- Valid nursing practicing license
- Valid Certification in BCLS & AED.
- Required to work on rotating shifts that include weekends and public holiday
