JOB DESCRIPTION
THIS IS A 2-YEARS RENEWABLE / CONVERTIBLE CONTRACT ROLE.
The Senior Technician/Technician - Centre Management System Support is responsible for ensuring all exhibits, audio-visual equipment, facilities, and essential services are available daily to support daily operations for centres/museums under Defence Collective Singapore (DCS), creating a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for employees, visitors, and customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Daily Startup & Shutdown of Facilities, Exhibits, Attractions & Projection Systems.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, exhibition and gallery equipment, HVAC, and mechanical repairs to ensure the proper functioning of facilities and equipment.
- Building Systems: Monitor and maintain building systems such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), fire protection, and security systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Contractor Coordination: Coordinate with external contractors, vendors and service providers for specialized repairs, installations, or renovations as needed. Supervise and inspect the works of contractors and the works of the service providers (cleaning, housekeeping, landscaping, pest control, car park and security). To ensure contractors compliance to safety, regulations and level of standards set my DCS.
- Event Setup: Setup of logistics inclusive but not limited to AV Systems, Furniture, and equipment for events & daily organised visits.
- Inventory Management: Maintain inventory levels of supplies, tools, and materials needed for facility maintenance and repair activities.
Recommend buying of critical spares and consumables for various facilities repair and improvement and participate in facilities improvement projects. - Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations, such as power outages, equipment failures, fire emergency/incidents or building damage, and implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks and minimize disruptions.
- Supervision and Leadership: Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of facilities technicians (interns & part-timers), providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality service delivery.
REQUIREMENTS
- N-Level/O Level/ NITEC/ Professional Certificate.
- Preferable with 1 year working experience in similar roles. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, including proficiency in clear, concise, and compelling oral and written communication in English.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and under pressure and to manage multiple concurrent tasks and responsibilities while dealing with changing priorities.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or facility management software for work order management and asset tracking.
- Withstand various strenuous activities such as frequent walking, prolonged standing, climbing ladders, bending, and kneeling without restriction.w
- Physical stamina and mobility to perform manual labour, lift heavy objects, and work in various environmental conditions.
- Able to work on rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Flexibility to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed, to address emergencies or urgent situations.
