About Your Team
Fidelity has Trading desks operating across the globe - Hong Kong, Shanghai, London, Dublin and Toronto - covering cash and derivative products in Equities, Fixed Income and FX, in order to facilitate the trading needs of the various Investment Teams across the firm.
The Trading team in Hong Kong manages the execution and liquidity requirements for all FIL and FIC funds as it relates to the APAC markets. Traders actively engage with the investment team in order to deliver best execution. The expansion of the Trading team to Singapore will mirror the presence in Hong Kong in order to work seamlessly in terms of function and support for FIL and FCAM funds.
About Your Role
As a member of the Trading desk, you will be responsible for transacting in Fixed Income & FX securities on behalf of Fidelity's fund managers, and as part of Fidelity's global investment team. This will require you to have a strong ability to communicate news and views to a broad and diverse team of investors and develop an understanding of their respective objectives and requirements. You will be expected to manage all your activities with care and attention, applying market-leading trading skills and standards, and understanding the impact of your actions on all of Fidelity's funds and our reputation as a market participant and as an asset manager. As a trader, you will be a highly valued core member of the investment team and actively engaged with portfolio managers and analysts on an ongoing basis, including discussing flow trends, liquidity conditions or market technicals, and ultimately influencing investment decisions.
About You
- Optimise liquidity capture through increased use of electronic trading / protocols whilst comfortable in trading blocs via voice, for both Fixed Income & FX
- Being able to demonstrate / explain Best Execution thought process through all market conditions
- Able to articulate pre and post trade workflows and post trade analysis
- Proactively develop and maintain relationships with market participants
- Provide input in Trading/Technology projects to help enhance and future proof trader workflows
- Ability to filter and synthesize qualitative and quantitative information in a timely manner
- Disseminate market news and commentary effectively
- Be the face of FIL Trading in Singapore, support with the initial setup of the FI/FX trading desk
- Comfortable explaining trading's role to existing and futures clients
- Possess the forte to run the franchise ensuring the integrity and consistency of the franchise is maintained
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the IM department including other Traders, Heads of Trading, Quants, Research and Trading Analytics, and Trading Technology
- Uphold high regulatory and compliance standards
Experience And Qualifications Required
- Knowledge and experience with Fixed Income & FX markets with up to 8 years of market experience and hold relevant MAS qualifications based on inscope traded instruments and fulfil any ongoing CPD requirements
- Familiar with electronic trading systems such as FXConnect and FXall for FX as well as MarketAxess, TradeWeb & BBG for FI
- Knowledge and experience of OMS systems such CRD desireable
- Cross asset mindset while leveraging quantitative pre and post trade analytics
- Proven track record of proposing and implementing e-trading capabilities or enhancing trading workflows
- Ability to prioritise and manage own workload effectively in a busy environment
- Articulate concisely how they have added value or demonstrate how they differentiate themselves from the pack
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication ability, both written and verbal
- Familiarity with rules and regulations across the Asia financial markets
