KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensuring Safety of the vessel and her crew always remains of the highest priority.
- Oversee and manage entire technical requirements and operation of Offshore vessels such as DP2, DP3 Subsea Dive Support (DSV), PSV, AHTS, and other assets.
- Responsible and accountable for the performance of the technical and purchase personnel under your responsibility including but not limited to providing them with direction, performance management and any skill upgradation in line with company's requirements and policy.
- Monitoring technical costs of managed vessels and ensuring follow-up of cost control with vessel Master and Chief Engineer.
- Project Management, Plan, manage, monitor, and execute vessels repairs, dry dockings, and conversions within agreed budgets.
- PIC for any client's surveys, inspections including OVID, MWS, and coordinate with relevant departments to close out the findings in the punch list before mobilization.
- Manage the direct interface with the clients, intermediaries, ship owners and other stakeholders involved, ensuring active involvement, timely responses with a broader overview of actions, and its consequences.
- Developing programmes for continuous improvement and to ensure that Technical Management staff and the Vessel Engineers are kept aware of new or changing regulations and industry initiatives.
- Ensure reporting monthly to clients on plan ahead for each vessel as well as review of monthly costs, monthly reports, PMS data etc. and accordingly, prepare reports for the MD for his review.
- Approving orders, invoices, and payments up to limit of authorisation.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining a safe, cost efficient and environmentally sound operational standard in compliance with the Company's Safety and Quality Management System as well as the International Marine regulations, IMCA and the vessels Classification.
- Work with all teams for tender bids, submissions etc. as well as operating cost forecast.
- PIC for any emergency response, clients interface, and with Incident accident investigations, High Potential Near Misses and Technical incidents.
- Additional works and tasks as advised by the MD.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB (Essential skills, qualifications, and experience):
- Previous experience in an offshore and marine operations related company, ideally within a Ship Management or with Ship Owners, owning and operating high specification DP Subsea and Offshore vessels.
- Prior experience either as Technical Manager (Offshore) for a minimum of 5 years or as an Offshore Vessel Manager for a minimum of 8 years.
- Prefer to have sailed as a Senior Marine Engineer or Chief Engineer on Offshore vessels (Subsea, OSV etc.).
- Recognised marine qualification/experience either at sea or shore-based experience.
- Ability to manage and administer personnel under your responsibility.
- An acute understanding of how the offshore business works, with tight deadlines, clear and apt responses.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively.
