JOB DESCRIPTION
Senior Vice President / Team Lead - Remedial Management: Reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Remedial, you will lead a team of experienced restructuring and recovery professionals, along with support staff.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the management of a portfolio consisting of distressed assets and non-performing loans (NPL) across both Commercial Banking and Global Banking sectors.
- Drive and mentor your team to best in class workout and recovery strategies for distressed accounts, aiming to maximize value and minimize losses or impairments for the Bank.
- Represent the Bank in multi-bank workouts and external meetings with clients, legal professionals, financial advisors, liquidators, receivers, private trustees, judicial managers, and other creditors. Maintain effective working relationships with these parties.
- Proactively lead recovery efforts and legal actions on NPLs, including restructuring, rescheduling, enforcement actions, writ-of-summons, judicial management, bankruptcy/liquidation, and pre-packs/schemes of arrangement, both within Singapore and internationally as needed.
- Conduct post-mortem reviews to identify credit and other risks, and provide live briefings to share insights and lessons learned with internal stakeholders.
- Identify early warning signs for corporate accounts and advise on risk mitigation strategies for higher-risk accounts.
- Lead in relevant management, audit, and regulatory inquiries and reporting.
- Represent the Remedial team on relevant or ad-hoc projects.

JOB REQUIREMENTSRequirements:
- Degree in Banking/Finance, Accountancy, Business, or a related field.
- At least 15 years of banking experience in credit or corporate account management, with a minimum of 10 years specifically in managing corporate NPL restructuring and recovery. Experience with foreign or regional jurisdictions is preferred.
- Proven experience as a team leader with a strong track record in managing teams, driving results (P&L responsibility), and prioritizing team development.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse range of external stakeholders, including corporate clients, other lenders, financial advisors, lawyers, liquidators, judicial managers, auditors, and regulators.
- In-depth knowledge of insolvency laws and practices, as well as a thorough understanding of banking products and practices.
- Excellent negotiation, influencing, and communication skills. Must be a strong team player capable of engaging effectively with senior internal stakeholders, including Heads of Business Units.
- A proactive individual with a persistent can-do attitude and an agile, flexible mind set for problem-solving.
