Responsibilities
- Achieve workshop turnover budget utilizing the resources i.e. workshop staff, equipment, special tools, processes and procedures etc.
- Collaborate with Technical / Training Department to identify technicians training needs, develop training plan and its requirement ensuring their knowledge and skill level meet up to Principals requirements.
- Ensure new technician completes the e-Learning module during the 3 months probation
- Equip Technicians with proper/ complete tools to facilitate their work efficiency
- Ensure delivery of a consistent quality workmanship from the shop floor to meet customers expectation / promised delivery time. Perform random audit check on the technicians quality of work done.
- Ensure scrap parts (metal / non-metallic) are stored properly and arrange with appointed scrap vendor for disposal.
- Ensure warranty procedures are adhered and practices are in accordance to respective Principals requirements.
- Monitor and ensure Foreman adheres to Factory hours guideline and allocates the correct FRU
- Conduct regular review on repetitive technical, product and quality issues and liaise with Technical Dept. to find a resolution.
- Conduct regular staff performance appraisal and counseling (disciplinary, if any) with the objective that under-achiever improves and meets monthly target performance (sold hours).
- Maintain a safe and healthy workplace at all times.
- Upkeep workshop areas cleanliness and tidiness
- Conduct weekly ToolBox meeting
- Support Foreman / CSA to conduct test-drive to establish customers concern when necessary.
- Assist and support Asst. Manager, Service & Operations in all matter as when required relating to customers issues in order to resolve promptly.
- Repair works are properly investigated
- Provide technical diagnosis report, write-up, photos etc.
- Manage Special Vehicles operation workflow working closely with PIC Special Vehicle Division
- Plan / schedule workshop loading for the service maintenance/ repair work and recall campaign program
- Liaise with Parts Dept and CSA to prepare parts/ labour quotation.
- Ensure PO (Purchase Order) are tag to the respective vehicle registration no. and monitor PO validity period for proper invoicing.
- Plan / arrange Technician for on-site diagnosis / job
- Update special vehicle progress report status consistent communication to update PIC
- Adhere to any projects or task as assigned.
Requirements
- NTC 2 in Automotive Technology (light Vehicle) or higher educational level or Certification of Motors Trade Industry
- At least 7 years in automotive trade service / repair with 2 years in supervision position is preferred
- Good communication, interpersonal, management and supervisory skills
