  • Taking Orders: You will take food and drink orders from customers, ensuring accuracy and attentiveness to special requests or dietary restrictions. This may involve using handheld ordering devices or traditional pen and paper.
  • Answering Customer Inquiries: Customers may have questions about the menu, ingredients, or special requests. You will need to be knowledgeable about the offerings and provide accurate information to assist customers.
  • Handling Payments: You will collect payment from customers, process credit card transactions, and provide accurate change if necessary. Cash handling skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems are often required.
  • Clearing Tables and Resetting: After customers leave, you will clear and clean the tables, ensuring they are ready for the next guests. This involves removing dirty dishes and wiping tables.
  • Assisting with Restaurant Duties: Depending on the restaurant's needs, you may be responsible for various additional tasks, such as restocking supplies, assisting in food preparation, and ensuring the cleanliness of the dining area, including sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Collaborating with the Kitchen: You will work closely with the kitchen staff, communicating orders, ensuring timely delivery of food, and addressing any issues or modifications requested by customers.
  • Handling Customer Feedback: It is important to listen to customer feedback, address any concerns or complaints promptly, and strive to provide excellent service to ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Nitec and above education level or its equivalent education level
  • Prior experience in a similar role, such as a restaurant crew or customer service is often preferred but not always required, especially for entry-level positions
  • Possess hygiene certificate (preferred, but not required)
  • Able to understand and converse in mandarin and/or English
  • Require verbal communication skills to interact with customers and take orders accurately.
  • Patience and a positive attitude when dealing with customer needs or complaints.
  • Customer service oriented individual
  • Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other service crew members.
  • Being able to handle a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes in tasks or priorities.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment
