Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with marine engines, auxiliary systems, and other vessel components.
- Perform repairs on inboard/outboard engines, including fuel, cooling, and exhaust systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance to ensure shipboard systems are in good working order.
- Maintain cleanliness in ship and engine rooms when onboard.
- Provide detailed reports on repairs and explain services performed to customers.
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate service records, including parts used and time spent.
- Collaborate with other technicians and assist in mentoring junior staff.
Requirements:
- Diploma or technical certification in marine mechanics or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in marine service and repair.
- Strong mechanical skills, with knowledge of marine engines and cargo pumps.
- Proficient with diagnostic tools and service equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and handle physically demanding tasks.
